THE MEDICAL MALPRACTICE TRIAGE SERVICE
Dr. Morgan originally created the Medical Malpractice Triage Service at the request of the member benefits arm of the Florida Medical Association to assist Florida physicians who were sued for malpractice. The Triage Service was only available to FMA members who purchased a membership in a comprehensive asset protection plan. Many physicians wanted to participate in the Triage Service without having to also join an asset protection plan, so Dr. Morgan now provides his Triage Service as a completely independent service. The Medical Malpractice Triage Service was created to protect the individual Florida physician sued for medical malpractice. This protection is vital to both the insured and uninsured physician. Unfortunately, most Florida physicians carry medical malpractice insurance with coverage limits far below even a moderate sized medical malpractice judgment. This leaves the individual physician personally exposed to any amount in excess of the malpractice policy’s limits. The Medical Malpractice Triage Service is designed to eliminate that exposure to the insured physician. The Medical Malpractice Triage Service also protects the bare or self-insured physician.
